Where the names come from
Customers type their own name on your payment page, before the prompt goes out. It is optional there and always will be, because a payment must never depend on somebody being willing to give their name. So some rows show a name and some show only a number. A number with no name is a customer you know less about, not a customer with a name we invented.Somebody who gave their name once and skipped it the next time keeps the name
they gave. It is the same person.
How the list is built
From your payments, as they settle. There is no separate list to maintain and nothing to import. That matters more than it sounds: a customer list kept apart from the payments can disagree with them, and a list that can disagree with the money is a list nobody trusts. Yours cannot, because it is made of them.What you can do with it
- Search by name or number, which is how you find the person who just rang
- See a regular: somebody with eight payments is not a stranger
- Ring somebody back: the number is shown in full, because it is your customer and a masked number is one you cannot call
