Money settles to you

A collection settles to a destination you nominate: a bank account, a paybill, or a till. It does not sit in a Paynecta balance waiting to be withdrawn.
You do hold a credit balance with us, but it is not your takings. It is what our fee is charged against, and it is described in Credit and fees.
That is why an account cannot collect until three things are true at once:
1

Verification is approved

We know who the business is.
2

A payment method exists

We know where the money goes: a bank account, a paybill or a till.
3

You have credit

Our fee comes out of it, so an empty balance stops collection on a prepaid account.
Neither is a switch anyone can flip. Your dashboard works it out from the state of the account, so if it says you cannot collect yet, one of the two is genuinely missing.

Changing where money settles

Changing a settlement destination is the change an attacker would most want to make on your behalf, so it is treated accordingly: every change is recorded with who made it, and account numbers are only ever shown to you masked to the last four digits.
Nobody at Paynecta will ever email or call to ask you to change your settlement details. If you get that request, it is not from us. Forward it to support@paynecta.co.ke.

How customers actually pay

Each TapFlow has its own web address that a customer opens and pays from. See Your payment page for what they see and why the customer types their own number.

Paying into a bank account

A bank is not a shortcode. When your money lands in a bank account, the customer pays that bank’s own paybill with your account number as the reference, which is how the money reaches an account M-Pesa has never heard of. You choose your bank from a list and give your account number; the routing is ours to get right.
